Different Time, Different Blog.

So, bloggers, I guess my journey to let go of my "Stranger Anxeity" has ended.
It wasn't really enjoyable was much as it was a pain and time consuming. It also crushed my self-confidence very easily.
 I do regret giving it up, and maybe I will pick it up some other time, but in the meantime, I have started another blog (minus the Stranger Danger part) and it is all about my art, writing, and daily thoughts & doodles. :) you should check it out!

With a Little "Help"...

Hey Bloggers!
Last week my mom, grandmother, my grandmother's best friend and myself, went to the movies. Watching movies is one of my favorite things to do with my family and friends. It gives us a chance to laugh or cry together, and then continue on our everyday lives.
When we got to the movie theater, there was almost no one there yet and we headed up to get our snacks. The cashier at the counter's name was "Packy" and I was dying to get his picture. However, I had been very jittery on asking people for their pictures so I held off. By the time we made it through the line and I finally got the nerve to ask, the line was ridiculous and I didn't want to embarrass myself.
While we waited for our movie to start, Stranger #8 made his appearance. He was a huge movie buff and loved to talk about all the new movie releases. He was extremely nice, so I asked him quickly (and gave him my card).
When we planned to see The Help, I had no clue how good of a movie it would be. I feel in love, laughed, cried, and laughed all over again. I can NOT wait to read the book and enjoy it all over again.
Until tomorrow,
McKenna

So, last week I ordered some awesome business cards from moo.com(: They came out so much better than I thought they would!
Past strangers if I run into you, I will be more then happy to give you one! :)

A Late Post

Dear Bloggers,
I had kind of an off day yesterday, and it totally slipped my mind to post. Today was MUCH better, so here it goes...
While I was in my hometown, I made a stop into my grandfather's work place and I met one of his employees. This is Terri and she is a classic hometown-kinda girl. She was hilarious when I was taking the picture, which helped my nerves settle pretty quickly.

I really miss not being in my hometown. Life seems so much more simple there, and I wish I could stay there all the time.
I am going to be pretty bust tomorrow with volunteering, so I might not be able to get a photo of a stranger. I will try, but if I don't, no need to worry Bloggers, I will make up for it Thursday. (:
Until, tomorrow (or Thursday),
McKenna

{A Glimpse into Another Life}

In the past few years, many Amish families have moved up and around my hometown. I have always been extremely fascinated with their way of life, and on this trip we made a visit.

In the Amish culture, their faces are never to be photographed, a few of them do let you take their picture from behind. They believe that when their picture taken, they are making an image in God's likeness, going against the second commandment: Exodus 20:4.
When we got to their farm, a young lady was sitting at an old Singer sewing machine doing her family's mending. It was so picturesque, I couldn't believe it. My grandmother and I asked her nicely if we could take her picture from behind, but she didn't feel comfortable. I was a little upset, but I respected her culture and moved on.
While we were driving down the road, I say this Amish fellow actually "mowing" his grass along the road. Our way of life is so much more different than theirs, which makes them so intriguing.

Until tomorrow,
McKenna

p.s. The photo below is one of the baby calves the Amish have at their farm. Veal (as my dad would say). I feel in love with this one, I could have taken him home with me.<3

{Hometown One-Stop}

Hello From My Hometown, Bloggers!
This weekend me and my family piled into the Honda and headed up to our hometown for the weekend. I love heading back to the "simple life" for a little while. (:

I was a little bit hesitant about asking a person from a small town because it is more of a farm culture. So, my grandfather pretty much took over. (:

Grampy is the warmest, most-loving person you will ever know. And he knows pretty much about everyone in his town. I was hoping he would have someone for me to photograph, that I didn't really know all that well.  When we went to gas the car up, I met Mike and Sue. They are employees at my hometown's one stop, and I feel in love with their small-town charm.

I am exicted for the following posts and I am starting to notice a slight difference in my overall attitude and confidence level.(:
Until tomorrow,
McKenna

{A Different Experience}

Hey Bloggers!
This morning, I already woke up dreading to ask someone for their picture. I guess I just wasn't in the mood.
I was looking frantically while we were out town, but no seemed to catch my eye right away. I planned to take a quick trip into Border's to see the new sales and headed to the art section.

I was standing there for quite a while and a guy was looking there too. I thought to myself, He looking in the art section, so he will probably understand my project. So, I started my speech but I noticed his forehead start to wrinkle. He was quick to say no in a harsh tone and walked briskly away. I was completely defeated. My first "No," and it was a lot to take in.

ANYWAY, Stranger #4 is Ginny. I got her yesterday when I got Stranger #3, Ashley. Ashley insisted that Ginny should participate in my project as well. (:
I wasn't planning on placing these two one after the other, but I was too upset to ask anyone else. i was just extremely happy that I had a back-up. (:

The bottom picture was the car in front of me after the awful Border's trip. It was greatly needed! (:
Until tomorrow,
McKenna
